About this course

A ceramics Hand-building course will be to make ceramics for celebrating the season. These could be Christmas themed, but also any type of celebration. 

You’ll be using various hand-building techniques such as slab rolling, coiling and pinching, as well as how to use moulds to create forms. We’ll be decorating with materials, carving & stamps to create pattern, followed by underglaze and glaze methods to decorateAbout your tutor

Alex Smith is a London based designer. He has led workshops for over 10 years in Ceramics Design and animation. His distinctive tableware and ceramic planters feature in the books “Wander at Home” and “Propagate!”
