Volunteers give their time freely to The Centre For Better Health and make a real difference to the quality of service we are able to offer
We value the dedication and commitment of all our volunteers and couldn’t survive without the support and dedication of our many volunteers across the services. We also aim for these volunteering experiences to meet an individual’s own personal goals.
We are currently looking for a volunteer with good marketing and communication skills to help boost our social media profile. If you are interested please contact: email@example.com
We could not run our affordable counselling service without the commitment of our volunteer counsellors.
Those who are not yet qualified must be enrolled on a recognised Diploma Counselling Course. We would particularly welcome applications from more experienced counsellors e.g. those who already have 50+ clinical hours. Click here to read about one of our volunteer counsellors' experience.
Volunteers at Better Health Bakery
Volunteers bakers at the Better Health Bakery support trainees on 3 month placements in the social enterprise. You will learn how to bake real bread according to traditional sourdough principles and support our trainees in their training.
Volunteer course/workshop provider
Got a skill and a passion you want to share with your local community? Volunteers can work with The Centre for Better Health to plan and deliver or support a tutor on courses and workshops. The nature of these courses and workshops vary depending on the volunteers own interests and experience, as long as it broadly fits aims of promoting wellbeing and encouraging participation in the community.
There are no specific qualifications required to be a volunteer and you do not need any formal teaching qualifications, you just need to be passionate about your area of expertise and confident in sharing that.
Volunteer bike mechanics
Better Health Bike Workshop needs volunteer mechanics to help with our bike recycling project. This is an interesting and exciting opportunity for someone who is a keen bicycle mechanic, interested in recycling and supporting good mental health in the local community.
You will already be confident with a spanner and have the knowledge to strip and rebuild a bicycle. You will be working in a professionally equipped bicycle workshop with a Cytech qualified lead mechanic. We are looking for volunteer mechanics that can give one day a week for 3 months.
If you are not experienced yet please consider doing our evening classes.
